About Us

Who We Are:

Carolina Speech & Occupational Therapy is a private practice specializing in providing speech-language and occupational therapy to children ages birth to three, preschool age, and school age in the Lake Norman, Statesville, Charlotte and surrounding areas

Where We Provide Services:

Therapy is provided in the child's natural environment, including the home, daycare, and school setting.  Therapy can also be provided in a clinic setting in our office in Charlotte.

Our Philosophy:

In additional to providing individualized speech, language, and occupational therapy to our clients, Carolina Speech & Occupational Therapy strives to help educate parents and caregivers for better carryover in the home.  We encourage parents and family to participate in therapy sessions and learn strategies and techniques to further address areas of need.

Heather YarnotHeather Yarnot, MS CCC-SLP: President and Owner.

Heather is a graduate of East Carolina University, with a BS in communication sciences and disorders and a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She is SOS certified and serves children in the Statesville, Troutman, Cleveland areas.

Karen MillsKaren Mills, MS CCC-SLP: Speech Therapist. 

Karen is a graduate of the University of Florida with a BS in recreation therapy and a graduate of Western Carolina University with a master’s in Speech-Language Pathology.  Karen is SSOS certified and serves children in the Sherrill’s Ford and Mooresville areas.

Ana CampbellAna Campbell, MA CCC-SLP: Speech Therapist, Bilingual. 

Ana is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BS degree in communication sciences and disorders and a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.  Ana is bilingual and serves children in Statesville.

Mary NguyenMary Nguyen, MS OTR/L: Occupational Therapist. 

Mary is a graduate of Seton Hall University with an BS degree in social and behavioral science and a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA.  Mary serves children in Charlotte.

Jennifer BorstJennifer Borst, MSed CCC-SLP: Speech Therapist. 

Jennifer is a graduate of Hofstra University with a degree in teacher of speech and hearing and a master’s of education in Speech-Language Pathology.  Jennifer serves children in Mooresville, Cornelius, Davidson, and Huntersville.

Kristen is a graduate of Adelphi University with a BS degree in communication sciences and disorders and a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.  Kristen serves children in Statesville.

Kayla is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a BS degree in communication disorders and a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.  Kayla serves children in the Charlotte area.

Stephanie PayneStephanie Payne, COTA: Occupationalal Therapy Assistant. 

Stephanie is a graduate of Appalachian State University with an BS degree in exercise science/recreation management and an associates of applied science degree as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant from Central Piedmont Community College.  Stephanie serves children in Charlotte, Mooresville, Troutman and Statesville.
